What the free result can — and cannot — tell you

Use the result as a first orientation. You decide whether to implement a point yourself or have the whole website assessed in context.

Beispielhafte Auswertung einer Website-Prüfung mit priorisierten technischen Hinweisen

What is checked for free?

Publicly accessible signals for indexing, metadata, structure, links, selected technical quality, accessibility, trust and inquiry paths.

What is not checked?

Protected accounts, internal business data, legal compliance, long-term ranking development and a complete manual evaluation of every page.

What does a result look like?

Each relevant finding receives a status, an explanation, an initial action and a visible limitation.

What can I do myself?

Simple metadata, broken links, missing alt text and unclear headings can often be corrected with the matching guide and careful review.

When is an individual audit useful?

When several findings interact, visibility has dropped, a relaunch is planned or the right priority cannot be determined automatically.

Illustrative example

How one finding is explained

Status
Review with high priority
Detected problem
The main page has no distinct meta description.
Why it matters
Search engines lack a concise summary and may compose the search snippet from other text.
First action
Write a page-specific description that names the offer, target group and region naturally.
Limit of the automated check
The tester can detect the signal, but cannot guarantee how Google displays or ranks the page.

How the SEO tester works — 24 signals in 6 categories

The SEO tester crawls your homepage plus up to 25 subpages in under a minute and evaluates 24 individual ranking signals across six categories: on-page structure, indexing, technical quality, content, internal linking, and structured data. Each signal is scored independently, then aggregated into category scores and an overall 0–100 SEO score. The scoring logic is based on Google Search Central guidelines and real-world ranking data from German SMB sites we have audited since 2021.

On-page structure

Title lengths and uniqueness, meta description quality, H1 hierarchy, heading order, alt text coverage, URL patterns, and language declaration.

Indexing signals

Robots.txt directives, sitemap.xml presence and reachability, canonical tags, noindex flags, and hreflang consistency.

Technical quality

HTTPS, HTTP/2, compression, response times, image weight, render-blocking resources, mobile viewport, and Core Web Vitals proxies.

Content quality

Word count per page, thin-content detection, keyword-topic alignment, duplicate-content risk, paragraph structure, and readability.

Internal linking

Link depth from the homepage, anchor text variance, orphan pages, link equity distribution, and navigation clarity.

Structured data

Organization, Service, FAQPage and BreadcrumbList schemas in JSON-LD where the visible page content supports them.

After the audit, you see the score, the six category scores, and the top three optimization areas directly in your browser. A detailed PDF report with every finding, its priority, the concrete implementation steps, and before/after examples is delivered via email after double opt-in — that report has an average of 28 pages and is typically worth 2–4 hours of consulting work.

Transparent and privacy-friendly

  • The check only uses publicly visible website information.
  • You receive a compact result quickly.
  • Anonymous check data is used only for quality assurance.
  • We use double opt-in for email delivery. Unsubscribe in one click any time.

What the test checks

The test evaluates publicly reachable signals. It does not replace a complete manual website audit and does not access protected accounts or internal business data.

  • Indexing, canonical, sitemap and robots signals
  • Title, description, H1 and content structure
  • Internal links, technical reachability and selected performance signals

Example evaluation

A finding is presented as a problem, impact and next step. Uncertain points or points that cannot be checked publicly are explicitly marked as limitations.

FAQ: SEO tester

What does the SEO tester analyze?

The SEO tester checks on-page signals, indexing, technical quality, content quality, internal linking, and structured data.

Why are detailed actions locked before email confirmation?

Public results intentionally show summary and potential only. The full implementation report is sent after newsletter double opt-in confirmation.

Is this useful for AI-driven search discovery too?

Yes. The audited signals support both classic search rankings and AI-retrieval-driven discoverability.

Which on-page signals matter most?

Title, meta description, clean H1 hierarchy, internal linking, canonical URL, image alt text, and topic-clear URLs. These fundamentals have outsized ranking impact.

How many subpages are analyzed?

The public scan covers the homepage plus up to 25 subpages. The full post-confirmation report can go up to 250 pages deep on request.

What are Core Web Vitals and why do you test them?

Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS) are Google performance/UX metrics. Weak values hurt rankings especially on mobile and are prioritized in the report.

How important is structured data (Schema.org)?

Structured data helps Google and AI systems classify content correctly. For business sites, Organization, Service, BreadcrumbList, and FAQPage are useful when the information is visible and accurate.

Is SEO still worth it in 2026?

Yes. Even with AI answers, organic search remains a core traffic channel. SEO-strong pages are also cited more often as sources in AI Overviews.

How long until SEO efforts show results?

Technical fixes often pay off within 2–4 weeks. Content and authority work typically takes 3–6 months to appear stably in rankings and traffic.
